Michael Schwarcz Shield
The Michael Schwarcz Shield is a annual event between Metro North-West Bowls (formerly Zone 10) and Central Coast Bowls (formerly Zone 15) and is named in honour of Zone 10 Life Member, Michael Schwarcz (-2018) in recognition of his service to Zone 10. Read more on Michael’s contributions here.
The event traditionally includes Open, Seniors and Juniors with 2024 introducing a Women’s side.

Zone 10 Reclaim the Michael Schwarcz Trophy
Congratulations to Zone 10 players for their impressive victory against Zone 15 in the Michael Schwarcz Shield hosted by NBC Sports on Sunday, 3rd December. Winning all rinks in the Open, Senior, and Junior sections is a remarkable achievement against this foe.
The selectors will undoubtedly have a lot to consider in determining the line-up for future clashes. The competition and success of the team certainly make the decision-making process interesting.
